Iron Maiden Weekend

After a couple of busy previous weekends I was due for a quiet one. For some reason my mind woke up on Friday morning with the instruction ‘ this weekend is Iron Maiden weekend’. Not willing to argue with instructions from the depths of my subconscious, I decided to revisit my heavy metal youth.
Let the games commence!
My Iron Maiden Weekend

Busy, busy, busy…

Lately life has been so busy.

A couple of weeks ago realised that I had been at my job for six months and being on a 12 month contract , guess what!!! Yup six months to milk the system and get a better paid more groovy gig for Mr Newt. So being good (or passable on a bad day)at my job is no longer an option and I’ve been stepping up a gear.

Also despite February being traditionally sleepy, cold and pennyless I’ve been away most weekends thus far. Off to a wedding in Derby this weekend 🙂
March is clear so far, except for the inevitable Mothers Day/Father’s Birthday trip.

Time for a quick cup of coffee

Whoa, today has been such a fast moving set of wobblers* that Mr Newt stood on the brink of losing his sense of humour.

Thankfully the world has come to a stop now. A quick cup of coffee and I’ll be on my way to my exercise class, to return home dead late tired and sweaty.

Life got to love it 🙂

*events that put you not just off balance but positively wobbly

Grrrrrrrrrrrr feckin Trains!!!

I love my job. No I really do 🙂

But I hate the commute to Manchester. Every two or three weeks it reaches a peak and I’m at that stage now. I’m fighting through with a happy smile, but this morning the train stood still for ONE HOUR TEN MINUTES just outside Manchester.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Oh happy day….

Well this morning my body broke. Woke up after a restless night of cats waking me and Rach up, feeling well spaced out. Not in a nice way I might add. So seeing this as a sign that the cold that has been knocking on the door for the a last couple of weeks had finally caught up with me, prompty rang in sick. The rationale being that I really need to recharge the batteries in light of all the meetings I have this week (one per day, phase 2 of web site redevelopment).

Caught up with my kip, then surfed the net and played some Counter-strike. Then Rach got back from Uni and whizzed me off to Crown Point. More prints of the Wedding Photos (which Rach reckons we have 500 photos of!!!) plus I put in some of my negatives from the last 10 years (oh yes tremble mortals, coming to my webspace mucho soon)
